We are beyond excited to announce that our co-founder and CEO, Dhungutti woman Carol Vale, has been named a finalist in Supply Nation’s Supplier Diversity Awards 2024! This news, hot off the press, was released by Supply Nation on Tuesday, 21 May 2024.
Carol is a finalist for the Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year award, proudly sponsored by Westpac. This prestigious award celebrates a female-identifying Indigenous business owner who has driven significant and sustainable growth in her business and has demonstrated ongoing engagement with Supply Nation, its members, and other Indigenous businesses. Carol perfectly embodies these qualities, and the entire team at Murawin is immensely proud of her for being selected as a finalist.
Carol’s passion, determination, and commitment have driven her impressive 40-year career as a specialist in intercultural consultation, facilitation, and participatory engagement. As an empathetic and visionary leader, Carol’s wealth of experience within government and corporate sectors allows her to navigate these spaces with integrity, professionalism, and influence, without compromising her values. Carol works tirelessly to deepen Murawin’s clients’ understanding and engagement with Indigenous communities, culture, and Country. She is a powerful role model and a voice for economic empowerment, inspiring others and selflessly sharing her skills, knowledge, and experience with First Nations communities across the nation.
Despite the extremely challenging year that Carol and Murawin endured in 2023, Carol has navigated these times with resilience, perseverance, strong leadership, and determination. It is truly an honour that she has been recognised as a finalist for the Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year award.
The winners will be announced at the Connect 2024 Gala Awards Dinner on 29 August in Meanjin, and we eagerly await the results. Furthermore, as a finalist, Carol is also in the running for the Dr. Dean Jarrett Award recognising Outstanding Impact, chosen from finalists across all categories. This award honours an organisation or individual making incredible contributions to the Australian Indigenous business sector.
Murawin is very excited and wishes to congratulate Carol on this outstanding and well-deserved nomination. We also want to acknowledge and congratulate the other finalists for the Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year award: Ashley Carroll, National Marketing Director from Alkira Fuel, and Dr. Karen Demmery, the CEO of Burbirra. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to Westpac for sponsoring this significant award.
Please join us in celebrating Carol’s nomination and stay tuned for more updates as we approach the awards ceremony in August.
