Carol Vale is a Dunghutti entrepreneur, businesswoman, CEO and co-founder of Murawin, who’s passion, determination and commitment have driven her impressive 40-year career as a specialist in intercultural consultation, facilitation, and participatory engagement, and an empathetic and visionary leader.

Birrillee Vale
Project Officer
Birrillee Vale is a Dunghutti woman from Armidale NSW. Birrillee brings a wealth of organisational and administration experience, working in the private and NFP sectors, alongside government, and collaborating closely with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
Bevis Masson-Leach
Content Specialist
Bevis is a multimedia content producer with over 10 years experience working collaboratively with young people, First Nations communities, corporates and non profit organisations.

Brian is a Tudu man and published academic, who has demonstrated excellent experience in research & evaluation, strategic communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.

Cath is a compassionate leader, an advocate for process and an expert strategic planner. Having held multiple high level management roles within the public health space, Cath is passionate about bringing her skills to Murawin, our clients and to the communities we work with.

Donna is a proud Wiradjuri woman with extensive facilitation, interview, and research experience in a range of cross-cultural settings, , including as part of policy and review processes for Government and non-profit organisations.

Elle wants to be a part of making places that are location sourced, culture led, and community fed. She believes that if we start with people, we can reshape the way we approach our built world: improving outcomes for marginalised groups, and in turn, fostering a better future for all.

Caring for and contributing to the world has always been at the heart of Jayne’s career and life ambitions. With a background of professional experience in administration and social work, Jayne is a genuine people person who is always positive, proactive and naturally brings the team together.
Dr Karen Newkirk
Senior Consultant
Karen explored non-Indigenous people’s attitudes toward Indigenous Australian knowledge using Theory U in her PhD. Karen is passionate about creating positive futures through connecting the greatness of each mind using facilitation, community development and education.

Kiran has worked in NGO and government roles focusing on education, health, microcredit, Indigenous issues, and gender equality and is committed to supporting communities in achieving their vision through self-directed sustainable development.
Lea Gage

Lea is a proud palawa & Te Whanau a Apanui woman with a proven track record of building strong partnerships, conducting rigorous research, and advocating for Indigenous rights, sovereignty, and culturally appropriate service provision. Her career has combined management, project leadership, policy development and community work focused on empowering Indigenous peoples.
Malakai Vale

Malakai is passionate about Information Technologies and business strategy and has experience in research, stakeholder engagement and place strategy. He is a member of Murawin’s Young Consultants, which is focused on ensuring the voices of young people are captured in our projects.
Mark Power
Director, Research & Evaluation
Having overseen multiple complex projects, Mark is an accomplished Director with extensive experience in Indigenous program evaluation, climate risk management, population health, governance, justice, community development, international development, social enterprise, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing.

Matthew is a Gumbaynggir/ Dunghutti man who is driven towards equality, Matthew can establish meaningful relationships and work towards positive outcomes.

Melissa’s long held passion and dedication to caring for children, providing them with high-quality care, and rich learning experiences informs her work at Murawin.
Michael Atkinson
Senior Consultant
Driven by the possibility of facilitating social change, Michael embarked on a PhD exploring the facilitating factors for positive social change in relationships between dominant and culturally marginalized groups and Michael’s work at Murawin occupies this change space.

Rachel is a proud Aboriginal woman from Quandamooka Nation and has an extensive history of working in program delivery, workforce development with her most recent work being in the area of research and evaluation.

Rebecca is a supportive leader and strategic planner, bringing a wealth of experience to Murawin. Proud of her Dunghutti heritage, Rebecca has a keen eye for the future, ensuring Murawin’s sustainability while prioritising the support and well-being of its people.

Siem is a curious, empathetic, motivated Place Strategist & Architect by trade with a passion for exploring ways to create meaningful places. Siem’s breadth of knowledge and experience in leading projects allows her to balance the practical and social elements required to deliver successful and complex projects.

Terri is a creative community engagement specialist with a 12-year history as a sessional academic, who has special interest in building community capital through collaborative and creative endeavours.
Tina Bramley
Senior Consultant
Tina has built a wealth of experience across corporate and government businesses working in organisational development, communications and business improvement roles. She is a published author and has post-graduate qualifications in psychotherapy (specialising in Process Oriented Psychology) and ecotherapy.
Wallula Bethell
Graphic Designer
Wallula is a Gumbaynggirr / Gamilaraay / Dunghutti woman from Tamworth NSW and has lived and worked in Sydney for over 15 years. Leveraging her profound cultural roots, Wallula stands as a First Nations Graphic Design specialist, drawing much of her design inspiration from Country.
