Murawin is an Indigenous-led consultancy gathering community views on Connecting with Country in the Pyrmont/Glebe/Ultimo, and Wentworth Park area. The survey results will inform City of Sydney design and planning decisions, actions, and programs, in order to deliver on Connecting with Country outcomes for Parks in the Pyrmont/Glebe/Ultimo area.

Background: Indigenous consultancy Murawin has been engaged to develop an Aboriginal Cultural Framework that will provide the cultural narrative for Wentworth Park. This Cultural Framework will inform design and planning decisions, actions, and programs that deliver on Connecting with Country objectives. This framework is not limited to informing Wentworth Park, it will be a PRECINCT WIDE framework to be applicable for all open space / parks, as identified in the Open Space Strategy Map in an area covering Pyrmont and Ultimo in the area surrounding Wentworth Park. This Cultural Framework will provide guidance and recommendations on how to Connect with Country to inform meaningful and cohesive outcomes for the public open space in this area, for short and long-term outcomes.
Connecting with Country describes a way to plan work that values and respects the relationship between land and Aboriginal people. This approach seeks to heal Country and embed truth-telling, strengthen communities, and celebrate culture.
